Egyptian Foreign Ministry condemned the Turkish President Reccep Tayyip Erdogan’s statements during his speech at the World Economic Forum as a “continuation of the series of lies which the Turkish President is repeating on the situations in Egypt.”
In a statement on Monday, the Ministry said that the Turkish President’s
meddling in the internal affairs of other countries and
his support to the terrorist organizations whether through political support or through financing and harboring the terrorists
aims at spreading chaos and damaging the interests of the peoples of the region, particularly in Libya, Syria and in Iraq and
that [such] behavior should not be condoned.
The statement added “Those following up the interior affairs of Turkey during the past recent years could infer that Erdogan, who claims that he is the sponsor of democracy and the defender of the so-called revolutions of Arab Spring, has nothing to do with the real democracy and he is not in a situation that allows him to preach.”
The Ministry also called upon the international community and the UN to take firm stance in this regard.

CAIRO — Egypt has condemned a speech by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the U.N. General Assembly in which he criticized U.N. inaction on the coup in Egypt which deposed the first democratically elected president Mohammed Morsi.
"[Erdoğan's speech] included lies and fabrications and disregarded the will of the great Egyptian people as reflected on June 30 [the mass protests that led to the ouster of president Mohamed Morsi by the military on July 3 of last year]," the Egyptian Foreign Ministry said in a statement early Thursday.
In his speech at the U.N. General Assembly early Thursday, Erdoğan criticized the U.N. inaction on what he described as the coup in Egypt.
"If we are going to defend people who come to power through coups, then I ask the question why we exist as the United Nations," he said.
Relations between Cairo and Ankara soured following the military ouster of Egypt's first democratically elected president Morsi last year.
Last November, Egypt downgraded its diplomatic relations with Turkey to the level of charge d'affaires and recalled its ambassador from Ankara. Turkey responded with similar measures.

UAE denounces Erdogan’s U.N. attack on Egypt

The UAE denounced on Thursday Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s stinging criticism of Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah el-Sisi during an address at the U.N. General Assembly.
The UAE Foreign Ministry slammed Erdogan’s statement as “irresponsible and blatant interference in the internal affairs” of Egypt.
“We were surprised by the statement of President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, regarding the Arab Republic of Egypt and his exploitation of the of the U.N. platform” to attack Egypt, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement carried by the state news agency WAM.
The statement urged Erdogan to “stop abuse against the Egyptian government and the Egyptian people.”
After world leaders gathered at the United Nations, Erdogan delivered a speech which featured stinging criticism of Sisi's rise and what he called inaction after Mohammad Mursi's overthrow.
“Again, those objecting (to) the murders in Iraq, Syria and the murder of democracy in Egypt are subjected to certain unfair and groundless accusations and almost immediately accused of supporting terrorism,” said Erdogan.
“The United Nations as well as the democratic countries have done nothing but watch the events such as overthrowing the elected president in Egypt and the killings of thousands of innocent people who want to defend their choice. And the person who carried out this coup is being legitimized.”
In a statement, Egypt's foreign ministry dismissed Erdogan's comments on Sisi.
“There is no doubt that the fabrication of such lies and fabrications are not something strange that comes from the Turkish President, who is keen to provoke chaos to sow divisions in the Middle East region through its support for groups and terrorist organizations,” the foreign ministry said.
“Whether political support or funding or accommodation in order to harm the interests of the peoples of the region to achieve personal ambitions for the Turkish president and revive illusions of the past.”
Erdogan's comments prompted Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri to cancel a meeting on the sidelines of the General Assembly with his Turkish counterpart, according to the statement.
