NANAGARHAR, Aug. 30 – Early Saturday morning the martyr unit of the Islamic Emirate [of Afghanistan] stormed the headquarter of so-called National Directorate of Security in Jalalabad city, the capital of Nangarhar, triggering multiple directing shooting and bomb attacks, killing and wounding over 70 local spy agents. 

First a Mujahid slammed his explosive-filled truck into the gate, blowing the checkpoints and gate to pieces to initiate the operation 

followed by directing shooting attacks and hand grenades blasts early at about 5:00 a.m. local time, that led [to] killing or wounding around 70 agents and security forces, 

a Mujahid, part of the martyr squad, who attacked the intelligence department, told Al-Emarah News through his cell phone, adding that a number of the vehicles have caught fire during the blasts and firefights and are on fire.

Heavy fighting is reported to be underway.  More information will be released as more is known.

Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. 

The two leaders exchanged views on pressing issues of Russian-Belarusian allied cooperation. 

Coordination of foreign policy actions was considered in view of the meeting between the Customs Union heads of state with the President of Ukraine and representatives of the European Union, held in Minsk on August 26. 

In particular, the two presidents stressed the importance of holding in Minsk consultations of the Contact Group involving representatives of the Kiev authorities, the southeast regions of Ukraine, the OSCE and Russia.
