TUNICA REELS AS COMPETITION, RECESSION HIT CASINOS [Exerpts]
It was 3:30 p.m. on a Monday in May at Harrah's Tunica Hotel & Casino in northwestern Mississippi.
Gamblers were few in number, and dealers stood ready at idle card tables.
It was easy to see why Caesars Entertainment Corp. was giving up on the 136,000 square-foot casino floor —-the largest between New Jersey and Las Vegas.
Harrah's closed June 2 —-18 years after it first opened as the Grand Casino.
The Tunica Miracle —-as boosters called the coming of gambling to what had been an isolated, economically moribund slice of the Mississippi Delta-- is over.
A boom that peaked with 13,000 jobs has slid into a struggle for survival.

GULF NATIONS STRUGGLE WITH IRAQ MILITANT BLOWBACK [Excerpts]
In phone calls this week with the leaders or foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, U.S. [World Tyrant] Secretary of State John Kerry heard a chorus of disapproval for any kind of U.S. [World Tyrant] military operation to help al-Maliki, such as airstrike or train-and-equip missions. . . .

With government consent, influential and even state-linked. . .clerics in the Gulf in recent years urged men to join rebels [actually, proxies of The World Tyrant] in Syria and drummed up donations for the [FAKE] Syrian cause in campaigns in mosques, online and on TV.
The funds went to numerous [FAKE] Syrian. . .factions, but some are believed to have gone to extremist ones like the Islamic State.
David Cohen, of the U.S. [World Tyrant] Treasury Department, put the amounts raised in the hundreds of millions.
Some of that went to legitimate humanitarian purposes, but much went to the World Tyrant’s FAKE] rebels, *including* extremist groups, Cohen —-who is the under secretary for terrorism and financial intelligence—- said in a speech earlier this year.

Dr. Shaaban discusses with [Mikhail] Bogdanov situation in Syria

Presidential Political and Media Advisor, Dr. Bouthaina Shaaban, discussed with Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister, Mikhail Bogdanov, the situation in Syria and the region in general.
During a meeting in Moscow, Dr. Shaaban asserted that the Arab and regional countries which targeted Syria through sponsoring, funding and arming terrorists are continuing their acts and crimes against the Syrian people, pointing out that *what is happening in Iraq now is continuation of these countries' methodology in targeting the region as a whole*.
In a statement to SANA, Dr. Shaaban said that the two sides consulted on the situation in the region *in light of the situation in Iraq*, stressing the necessity of exerting joint efforts to combat terrorism and prevent it from spreading in the region and the world.
Dr. Shaaban hailed the statements of the Russian Foreign Ministry in which it considered what is happening in Iraq
as the result of the U.S. [World Tyrant] invasion of Iraq in 2003 and
evidence of the *failure* of the U.S. [World Tyrant] policy in the region.
Advisor Shaaban stressed that Syria respects all its international commitments and, a long time ago, Syria proposed freeing the Middle East of weapons of mass destruction, and it completely agrees with Russia in this regard; therefore, Syria fulfilled all its commitments regarding the dismantling of chemical weapons.
Dr. Shaaban noted that the ongoing national reconciliations in Syria are the best solution to the crisis and they had positive impact on the Syrian people, stressing that these reconciliations are going on in *all* Syrian areas and the Syrians consider them as "genuine hope" for solving the crisis in Syria.
For his part, Bogdanov hailed the "good organization and democratic aspect" of the presidential elections in Syria which were held on a pluralistic ground for the first time, saying "The presidential elections are the decision of the Syrian people and Russia respects it."
He expressed comfort over the positive steps made by the Syrian government to meet its commitments in the field of chemical weapons.
The two sides stressed that Damascus and Moscow are determined to continue active political dialogue in all issues of common interest.
Syria's Ambassador in Moscow, Dr. Riad Haddad, attended the meeting.
