DALLAS COP INDICTED FOR SHOOTING MENTALLY ILL MAN [Excerpts]
Two Dallas police officers have been indicted in the last two weeks for shooting and wounding residents in incidents where the initial police accounts were later contradicted by video.
[Cardan] Spencer was indicted last week after shooting a 52-year-old man standing several feet away from him. A police report filed in the case initially claimed the man, Bobby Bennett, lunged at Spencer with a knife.
A neighbor's surveillance video camera captured a recording that showed Bennett was several feet from the officers and didn't appear to move toward them before gunfire caused him to crumple to the ground.

PROSECUTOR BLASTS JUDGE'S HANDLING OF RAPE CASE [Excerpts]
A Dallas judge's handling of a rape case and her suggestion that the 14-year-old victim was lying has outraged the city's top prosecutor [Dallas County District Attorney Craig Watkins], who said the case makes other victims reluctant to help authorities.
State District Judge Jeanine Howard voluntarily recused herself [in order to explain her decision] from the case of 20-year-old Sir Young, who pleaded guilty to raping the girl in 2011.
Watkins has previously spoken out about what he sees as the misconduct of some Dallas judges, particularly one who cited him for contempt of court last year in a high-profile mortgage fraud case.
Watkins allowed six prosecutors from his office to run for judgeships in this year's primary elections.

Cecily McMillan found guilty of striking policeman [Excerpts]
McMillian said she was in Manhattan's Zuccotti Park on 17 March 2012 to meet a friend, not to join the protest.
The graduate student said she instinctively struck out at someone she believed had groped her breast, hitting Officer Grantley Bovell in the face.
A video of the incident showed McMillan elbowing Officer Bovell, then running a few steps before being tackled by other officers.

MISSOURI LAWMAKERS OVERRIDE VETO, ENACT TAX CUT [Excerpts]
Like colleagues in other states, Missouri Republicans touted the tax cut as a means of remaining competitive with their neighbors and boosting the economy as revenues rebound from the Great Recession.
But the tax-cutting trend has not been limited to Republican states. About a dozen states passed income tax cuts last year and at least half that many already have voted to cut income taxes this year, including Democratic-led New York and Republican-led Oklahoma.

Russia calls on European Council members to take measures to stop ultra-nationalists

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has called on all members of the European Council to take resolute measures to stop ultra-nationalists and abandon double standards.
“Russia and many other countries have long been sounding the alarm over condoning attempts to revive the ‘brown plague',” Lavrov said on Tuesday at a meeting of the Committee of Ministers of the European Council.
“Every year at the United Nations General Assembly, a big group of authors proposes a resolution that urges to prevent the heroization of the Nazis and their accomplices.
Most of our Western partners [The World Tyrant / NATO] have been consecutively refusing to support this resolution, referring to the necessity to respect the freedom of speech. They use the same pretext to block similar resolutions at the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE),” the foreign minister noted.
“Now, after the tragedy in Odessa, after desecration of Jewish cemeteries by fascist mobsters, it is no longer possible to hide behind the protection of the freedom of speech,” the Russian minister stressed.
“All members of the European Council must take decisive measures to stop ultra-nationalists. There is no justifying those who condone the ideology and practice of fascism. There can be no justification even if they are politicians enjoying the patronage of enlightened Western democracies [The World Tyrant / NATO]. It is high time to abandon double standards,” Lavrov noted.
“Just remember that in the heat of February's confrontation in Maidan, NATO defense ministers and the alliance’s secretary general were saying Ukraine’s armed forces must not interfere with the political process, insisting on the army’s neutrality,” he noted.
“Now, Brussels and Washington are saying that the Kiev regime’s so-called ‘counter-terrorist operation’ is legitimate, since the state enjoys the monopoly on the use of the army.
But the *fact* that this army has been ordered to fight side by side with neo-Nazis against its own people is beyond comments of representatives of the United States [The World Tyrant] and the European Union [NATO].

Vladimir Putin signed Federal Law On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation.
The Federal Law aims to oppose attempts to infringe on historical memory in relation to events that took place during World War II.
The Federal Law makes it a criminal offence to deny facts recognised by the international military tribunal that judged and punished the major war criminals of the European Axis countries, approving the crimes this tribunal judged, and deliberately spreading false information about the Soviet Union’s activities during World War II.
Criminal penalties are increased if the above-mentioned activities are carried out by individuals using their official position or mass media, or by fabricating proof of accusations.
The Federal Law also makes it a criminal offence to publicly spread information on military and memorial commemorative dates related to Russia’s defence that are clearly disrespectful of society, and publicly desecrate symbols of Russia’s military glory.
The Federal Law sets administrative liability for legal entities that commit these offences.
