Legal experts and those who have followed the issue of clergy abuse say the New Ulm Diocese [in Minnesota] may be looking for others to share the blame, as well [as] others to share the cost if the diocese is found liable. 

"This is just something that they're doing to keep the microscope off them because if the microscope focuses it's going to see what they did," said Pat Noaker, who represents the man accusing [Francis] Markey of abuse.

COMMANDERS FIRED IN NUKE MISSILE CHEATING SCANDAL [Excerpts] 

The Air Force fired nine mid-level nuclear commanders Thursday and will discipline dozens of junior officers at a nuclear missile base in response to an exam-cheating scandal that spanned a *far longer* period than originally reported. 

Investigators determined that the cheating, which officials originally said happened in August or September last year, began as early as November 2011 and continued until November 2013

HOME DEMOLITIONS TURN DETROIT INTO BLANK CANVAS [Excerpts] 

The families of Detroit's Brightmoor area are delighted that the day is finally approaching when bulldozers will arrive to level more of their neighborhood.  After that, their community's future will be like the cleared landscape - a blank canvas. 

For years, Brightmoor residents pleaded with the city to demolish vacant homes that scavengers had stripped of wiring and plumbing and anything of value. 

Some structures are already gone, and 

now officials *aim* to do much more, 

*possibly* tearing down as many as 450 empty houses each week across more than 20 square miles of this bankrupt city - a vast patchwork of rotting homes comparable to the size of Manhattan.

Every payment toward their student loans is $900. . .and her husband aren't putting in their retirement savings account.

But, like the roughly 37 million others in the U.S. [The World Tyrant] saddled with $1 trillion in student debt, they *may never* catch up with wealthy peers who began life after college free from the burden. 

The disparity, experts say, is contributing to the widening of the gap between rich and everyone else in the country.

The agency sued 18 financial institutions in 2011 over their sales of mortgage securities to Fannie [Mae] and Freddie [Mac]. 

It alleges many banks falsely represented the mortgage loans behind the securities.

NEW MEXICO REVAMPS TRAINING AMID POLICE SHOOTINGS [Excerpts] 

Faced with a rash of questionable police shootings across New Mexico, the state's main law enforcement academy has changed its cadet curriculum aimed at helping reduce deadly force encounters between officers and suspects. 

The New Mexico Law Enforcement Academy recently adopted a new training model officials say could reduce police shootings, although some critics argue those changes may increase them. 

The issue took on greater urgency after a homeless camper was killed this month by police in a barrage of gunfire, and a furor has erupted over the shooting since *helmet-camera video surfaced showing the victim gathering his belongings and turning away right before officers shot him*.
